What to expect
Singing & Acting Workshop for Secondary Schools (Suitable for ages 12+) Designed for secondary students with a passion for the performing arts, this workshop offers a high-energy, inspiring introduction to professional-level training. Led by experienced industry coaches, students will engage in singing, acting, and movement classes that build confidence, technique, and ensemble awareness. While the workshop includes core elements, all sessions are tailored to meet the specific needs, abilities, and interests of the attending cohort. Whether your students are seasoned performers or new to the stage, this experience is shaped to support and challenge them in equal measure. Suggested Workshop Structure: 🔹 Movement Class Students explore storytelling through physicality—developing a movement vocabulary, learning how to block the "tracks" of characters, and uncovering the intention behind key motifs inspired by Hamilton choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler. 🔹 Voice & Acting Class Focusing on acting through song, this session guides students in expressing the emotional depth of lyrics while also introducing harmony work, vocal technique, and ensemble awareness. 🔹 Half-Day Option: Create a Mini Hamilton Show Students apply what they’ve learned to create and perform scenes and songs from Hamilton. Each participant is assigned a role and contributes to an ensemble performance that highlights character, voice, and movement. The session culminates in a short, informal showing for teachers and parents. 🔹 Q&A with Industry Coaches An open forum for students to ask questions such as: • How do I get involved in theatre professionally? • What’s it like working on a hit West End production? • How do performers deal with nerves? • What’s it like taking direction from someone like Lin-Manuel Miranda? • How do I stay focused and healthy as a performer? Optional Add-On: Workshop Workbook Each participant can receive a take-home workbook to use during the session and beyond. Includes: • Dance terminology • Behind-the-scenes images • Space for notes and reflections • Puzzles, word searches, and interactive content • A resource for follow-up lessons in drama, dance, or music
Cancellation Policy
1. Booking & Payment I understand that I am booking a single workshop, and that to secure my place, I must pay a deposit at the time of booking via the Place Order & Pay option. The remaining balance will be sent to me via a payment link on the day of the workshop. Final payments must be made within 14 days of the completion of the workshop. I confirm I have reviewed the workshop’s date, time, and location, and acknowledge that missed workshops will not be refunded. All bookings must be made in advance via the online booking form. 2. Cancellations & Refunds A full refund is available if cancellation occurs within 24 hours of purchase. No refund is available after that time. Once the workshop has started, refunds are not available. In exceptional cases, bookings may be transferred to another person with prior approval from the organiser. 3. Rescheduling (if applicable) If the workshop involves one-on-one or limited group sessions: Notice of at least 5 working days is required to request rescheduling. If the tutor needs to reschedule, an alternative date will be offered at no extra cost. 4. Workshop Format & Attendance Workshops are conducted in person at the stated location. If you arrive late, the session will still end at the scheduled time. Missed workshops without prior notice will not be refunded or rescheduled. 5. Workshop Cancellations If the workshop is cancelled by EMBA Events, we will offer a rescheduled date. If rescheduling is not possible, a recorded session or credit may be provided where appropriate.
